Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy explains how AJ Research Ltd. (“Research”, “we” or “us”), a company established in Israel, handles information in the Connecter Android application, related websites, web-guest features, communication services, and associated account systems (“Services”). It applies to registered users and, where relevant, people who communicate with them without a Connecter account. Using a service does not remove mandatory privacy rights, and permissions or consent are requested separately when required. The Services may change; this notice must be updated when processing materially changes.
Information we process
Depending on the features used, we process: (a) account details such as name, email, phone number, account ID, preferences, authentication records and settings; (b) contacts and identifiers from an address book when access is granted; (c) messages, attachments, group memberships, friend and invitation information; (d) voice/video calls, SMS, communication content and associated records, recordings, transcripts and translations; (e) location coordinates, geozone configurations, location history and alerts; (f) IP address, device/OS identifiers, application version, permissions, diagnostics, connection and fraud-prevention logs; (g) subscriptions, account balance, invoices and payment transaction references; and (h) telecom registration documents, identification or proof of address when required to obtain numbers or telecommunications services. Certain fields or features are optional.
Phone contacts and contact discovery
If a user permits access to Android contacts, Connecter reads relevant names and telephone numbers or other contact identifiers to facilitate finding and inviting people and starting conversations. Contacts may include individuals who do not use Connecter. Their information is not an invitation to send advertising without permission. Users may withdraw the Android permission at any time; this stops future contact access but does not necessarily remove already imported information. Connecter should provide a way to remove synchronized contacts where supported. Contact processing and server synchronization, if any, must match the actual application implementation and the Data safety declaration.
Chats, groups and communication content
To deliver messages and group communications, Connecter processes sender/recipient identifiers, delivery or synchronization information, timestamps, content and attachments as technically required. According to the current service design, messages, call recordings and translations may be stored on Connecter servers and made available through related history functions. Group administrators and participants may see information made available within a group. People receiving communications may independently retain, screenshot, forward or disclose them; Research cannot prevent those separate actions. Group and sharing controls should be used with care.
Voice/video calls, recordings and transcripts
Connecter may capture and transmit microphone and camera content to provide voice/video communication, group push-to-talk and voice-operated functions. Call information can include telephone numbers, routing data, connection duration and quality metrics. Where a feature records or transcribes conversations, the relevant recording and transcript may be stored on our servers for retrieval in the app. Users must comply with applicable laws on notifying participants and obtaining consent for recording or translation. A party who has not installed Connecter may nevertheless be heard or recorded when communicating with a Connecter user through supported telephone services.
Location sharing and GeoAlerts
Connecter offers optional location sharing, location history and geofence-based notifications (including arrival/departure alerts). When enabled and the relevant Android permission is granted, it may obtain precise location in the foreground or background, including while the app is not in active use, to support the chosen feature. Users choose whether to activate sharing and which authorized people or groups can access the information, subject to the app’s available controls. Users can stop future collection/sharing in the app or revoke Android permissions. Disabling future sharing is not the same as deleting historical coordinates or copies previously viewed or saved by recipients. GPS accuracy, connectivity and alerts are not guaranteed and must not be treated as emergency tracking.
AI translation, speech recognition and synthesized voice
When a user invokes translation, transcription or speech generation, relevant audio, text, transcripts, selected language identifiers and technical context may be transmitted to external AI providers, including OpenAI and Google, to perform the chosen operation. Connecter may use more than one model or provider, and may process both parties’ speech during a telephone call. Automated results can contain errors, omissions or fabricated content and should not be relied upon for emergency, medical, legal or other high-risk decisions without independent verification. Independent providers control their own underlying model technology, but Research remains responsible for its own selection, integrations and obligations under applicable privacy law. Provider retention and model-training practices vary by service and contractual arrangement; they must not be described as categorically zero unless verified.
Encryption, security and server-side processing
Connecter uses security controls to protect communications and stored records, including encryption where implemented. End-to-end encryption (E2EE) means only communication endpoints possess the keys needed to read content. Server-side storage of readable communication content and server-side speech-to-text, translation, or recordings are not themselves E2EE operations. If a communication is E2EE, any necessary decryption or authorized processing must be explained by the actual architecture, including whether the user chooses to send decrypted content to a translation provider. We do not claim that every data flow is inaccessible to servers or providers. The exact protection of each feature depends on its technical implementation. No security method eliminates all risk.
Telecom, SMS and web guests
For calls or messages to ordinary telephone numbers, Connecter uses independent telecommunications networks and service providers, including Telnyx where configured. Such networks may receive phone numbers, call/SMS metadata, signaling information and, to deliver service, communication content. Registration or identity documents may be processed to satisfy number-assignment and regulatory obligations. Web guests joining through an invitation link may supply identifiers and connection metadata and share content without opening a permanent Connecter account. Availability, lawful interception, roaming and routing rules vary by country and provider.
Payments, subscriptions and balances
Connecter may offer paid plans, balance top-ups, translations, numbers and other metered services. We process plan selection, account balance, transaction references and billing records. Third-party payment processors may receive purchase and payment information and generally process card or bank credentials under their own arrangements. We should not be understood to store complete payment card credentials unless actually required and explicitly disclosed. Telecom or payment-related records can require longer legal retention than ordinary account content.
How and why information is used
We use information to create and secure accounts; authenticate users; deliver messages, calls, location sharing, translation and other requested functions; synchronize user-selected history; manage subscriptions and telephone services; support users; investigate failures, spam and abuse; prevent fraud; improve system reliability; and meet legal requirements. Where applicable, legal grounds may include performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests and legal obligations. Consent is not a substitute for all other legally required safeguards.
Who receives information
Information may be disclosed to: (a) the intended communication recipients, invited participants or authorized location-sharing contacts; (b) hosting, infrastructure, analytics/diagnostics and security providers performing tasks on our behalf; (c) speech and AI providers, including OpenAI or Google, only as relevant to the requested feature; (d) telecommunications operators and Telnyx or equivalent providers for calls, numbers, SMS or regulatory processing; (e) payment processors; and (f) legally authorized authorities where disclosure is required. We do not sell personal information to data brokers or disclose message content to unrelated advertisers for their independent targeting. Where providers act as independent controllers, their own lawful processing may also apply. We aim to restrict data shared to what is necessary.
Safety, abuse reports and blocking
Users may block accounts or report unwanted conduct. We may process reported messages, account identifiers, abuse evidence, technical logs, contact details and relevant communications to investigate spam, harassment, scams, fraud, misuse of telephony or breaches of the Terms of Service. Authorized personnel may review information submitted with a report or otherwise accessible lawfully for investigation. Blocking generally prevents future contact through supported features but may not erase historical messages or prevent contact through other channels.
Device permissions and background activity
Connecter requests permissions as needed for functions such as contacts, microphone, camera, notifications and location, including background location where the user opts into features requiring it. Some platform services, such as speech recognition, may process data under Google’s or the device manufacturer’s policies, depending on configuration. Users can manage permissions in Android settings; disabling a permission can limit the related feature. Sensitive permissions must be supported by clear in-app notices when required by Google Play or law.
Data retention
Data is retained while necessary to operate user-selected features, preserve account history, perform billing and legal obligations, secure services or resolve disputes. Different categories may have different retention periods. Messages, location history, recordings, transcripts and translations can remain on our servers until deleted in accordance with product controls or account deletion. Some backups or records may take additional time to expire, and lawful recordkeeping requirements may apply to financial, anti-fraud and telecom records. We will not state a fixed universal retention period without verifying system settings and applicable obligations.
Account deletion and associated data
Users may initiate account deletion using the deletion function within Connecter; external account-deletion requests can be sent to support@connecter.click. As represented by the current design, deleting an account automatically triggers deletion of associated personal data from Connecter servers, including eligible account information and stored message, location and translation records, subject to narrowly justified retention for legal compliance, fraud/security, dispute or accounting requirements. Necessary exceptions, backup expiration and the practical deletion timeline should be communicated to the user. We will take appropriate steps regarding data processed by service providers, including deletion requests when applicable. Deleting an app from a phone alone does not delete the account.
User choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, individuals may request access, correction or deletion of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or exercise applicable data portability rights. Users may modify permissions, contact syncing, blocked users, location controls and recording or translation settings where available. A request can be submitted by email to support@connecter.click or through the in-app support channel. We may need to verify identity before acting and may refuse or limit requests when the law permits or requires it.
Users without an account
Ordinary telephone contacts, SMS recipients, invited web guests and people whose contact details are held in a user’s address book may have information processed despite not having a Connecter account. That can include telephone numbers, invitation identifiers, messages, audio, translation outputs or telecom metadata depending on how they interact with the Service. Requests about their privacy can be sent to support@connecter.click, subject to identity verification and applicable law.
International transfers and Israeli law
AJ Research Ltd. is established in Israel, but service operations and partners can process data in other jurisdictions, including the United States and Europe. Where required, transfers are supported by appropriate contractual or legal safeguards. This Privacy Policy operates under applicable Israeli privacy law, while recognizing mandatory rights that individuals may hold under the GDPR, UK GDPR or other laws that apply to the processing. No choice-of-law clause cancels non-waivable statutory privacy rights.
Children and age-related protections
Connecter is a general-purpose communications service, not expressly directed at children. Minors may need permission from a parent or guardian where law requires. We do not intentionally process children’s data in violation of applicable law. If family, educational or child-location use cases are supported, appropriate notices, consent and protective settings must be implemented before marketing or operating those functions for children.
Legal requests and disclosures
We respect the confidentiality of private communications and respond to lawful demands in accordance with applicable legal process. Requests from competent Israeli authorities, and valid obligations applying to us or to relevant independent providers in other jurisdictions, will be assessed under the applicable law. We do not promise that every service provider is subject solely to Israeli jurisdiction. Disclosure is limited to what is lawful and necessary in the circumstances.
Service limitations and responsibility
Independent AI systems, internet providers, mobile networks, Telnyx and other third parties may fail, change services or generate inaccurate output. AJ Research Ltd. cannot guarantee their uninterrupted performance or the correctness of automated translation. More detailed service limitations and allocation of contractual risk belong in the Connecter Terms of Service. Nothing in this document excludes the Company’s mandatory obligations concerning data protection, consumer rights or other liabilities that cannot legally be disclaimed.
Changes to the policy
We may revise this notice when practices, providers, functions or laws change. The currently effective version will be made available through Connecter and on an accessible web page. Where the law requires notice or renewed consent for material changes, we will provide it.
Contact and complaints
Privacy enquiries, requests and complaints should be sent to support@connecter.click. AJ Research Ltd., Registration No. 515870996, 12 Gvirtsman Street, Apartment 8, Jerusalem, Israel. Users may also contact a competent data protection authority when entitled to do so under applicable law.
